NEW! Grant Writing Course organized by CTR-IN’s Clinical Research Education and Career Development Key Component Activity. The programs will provide training for faculty at Mountain West CTR-IN Institutions who have authored proposals assessed as being most likely to result in a competitive Federal or major not-for-profit grant submission. Top-tier individuals will be selected to participate in one of the CTR-IN Grant Writing Workshops. Tuition and travel expenses will be provided for those eligible to attend.

Grant Writing Basics and More! Participants will be selected faculty from the Mountain West CTR-IN Institutions who have submitted a Grant Writing Workshop Application. This workshop will be held on January 28th and January 29th, 2016. Location: Las Vegas, Nevada at the UNLV Student Union (SU), accommodations for participants will be at the Hyatt Place, 4520 Paradise Road, 89169. Transportation to-and-from the airport will be provided by the Hyatt. Transportation to-and-from the UNLV SU will be provided by the CTR-IN.

Thursday, January 28th Description:
An overview of Grant Writing Basics, invaluable tips on successful grant writing, and a one-on-one grant proposal evaluation for each participant. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have the following knowledge: (1) a greater understanding of new external funding research grant requirements and new initiatives, (2) a greater understanding of the components  of the research grant, review criteria, and review process,  (3) writing and submission plans, and (4) next steps for writing a fundable grant application.

Friday, January 29 Description: Interactive sessions – participants will each present their grant proposal concepts and benefit from instructor and peer critique.
