The University of New Mexico Health Sciences
The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center was established in 1994 and is the largest academic health complex in the Western IDeA States. Located on the University of New Mexico campus in Albuquerque, the Health Sciences Center combines its four mission areas – education, research, patient care and community outreach – to provide New Mexicans with the highest level of health care. The Health Sciences Center is made up of the College of Nursing, the College of Pharmacy, the School of Medicine, the Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center, the University of New Mexico Hospitals, and the University of New Mexico Cancer Research and Treatment Center. In 2010, the Health Sciences Center was awarded one of the first three Clinical and Translational Science Awards to be housed in an IDeA state. This award has served as the coordinating center for the Mountain West Research Consortium and will provide important infrastructural support and expertise to the proposed Clinical and Translational Research Infrastructure Network
